Summer has finally arrived! Back are long, active days for parents and kids alike. To get the most out of the season, make sure the whole family is protected during outdoor activities with these three tips for safer summer fun:
1. Sun Safety- While we all love the summer sun, it’s extremely important to protect skin from its strong rays. As the sun shines longer, risk of heat-related illnesses like sunburn and heatstroke increases. Remember to apply sunscreen often, pack hats and extra layers, and take breaks from direct sunlight to keep you and your family safe.
2. Water Safety- As temperatures rise and more time is spent in the pool and on the beach, water safety becomes even more important. Make sure to swim in supervised areas and to keep an eye on children at all times. Paying close attention and teaching basic swim safety practices can help prevent swim-related accidents, helping everyone have fun in the water.
3. Bike Safety- With warmer weather allowing for more outdoor play, it’s important to educate kids on bike safety. Mandate helmet usage and talk to the whole family about road and transportation safety.
By making safety a priority this summer, you can help prevent harm and injury to you and your loved ones. After all, no one wants to be sidelined from summer fun!
