During COVID-19, how can you help kids focus on Halloween fun instead of the fright, and still keep them safe? Follow these tips for a Healthy Halloween.
Once the school bell rings, you may not know what to do with your days if you’re a stay at home mom or dad. While some people may keep busy with errands and catching up on household chores, Dr. Mia Finkelston shares 4 ways to take time for yourself once the kids go back to school.
- Join a walking group or start one on your own. It’s a good way to stay active. Hiking, tennis, biking… you name it- all are good for you mentally and physically. Bonus, you also may make some new friends.
- Try to keep errands to one day a week, if possible, so that you are not always running around when you have free time. While you have more time to take care of errands, it’s important for your mental health to spend some days doing other activities or resting.
- Consider a cleaning lady if you can. Save money by sharing with another neighbor or you can have the family room and kitchen cleaned instead of the entire house. While you may not be able to do this for every cleaning, but every now and then is a way to treat yourself, but also to free you up for other activities.
- Take a class or join a club. Been wanting to try knitting? Learn a language? Join a book club. Keep your mind active during the daytime with something you enjoy.
