How can we help?
Video therapy visits are a great option for care when you are feeling overly stressed or anxious, are going through a life transition or having relationship issues, suffering with depression or feeling overly sad, coping with grief, having trouble dealing with an illness or suffering from panic attacks.
If you are in crisis or have suicidal thoughts, it’s important that you seek help immediately. Please call 1-800-273-8255 (National Suicide Prevention Lifeline) or 911 and ask for help. If your issue is an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. LiveHealth Online does not offer emergency services.
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who has attended four years of medical school, one or two years of internship training, and more than three years of special training as a psychiatrist resident. The psychiatrists you see using LiveHealth Online can prescribe medication or help manage any medication you might be taking for a behavioral health condition.
A therapist is a mental health professional who has at least a master's degree in that field but does not need a Ph.D. or M.D. to practice therapy. Therapists provide talk therapy and do not diagnose patients or write prescriptions. Most therapists specialize in a certain field like family therapy, Marriage counseling, occupational therapy, educational therapy, etc.
If you are unsure of the type of behavioral health professional you should see, it may be best to first meet with a therapist or psychologist using LiveHealth Online Therapy.

The cost is $100 per visit with a psychologist and $85 per visit with a therapist. The visit cost maybe less if your health plan includes benefits for behavioral health visits. In this case you may only owe the copay or coinsurance amount. Either way, you will always see what you owe before you begin a visit.
If you do not see LiveHealth Online Therapy when you log in, this means your employer has elected to not provide video therapy visits using LiveHealth Online Therapy. Employers who don’t offer video therapy visits as a covered benefit usually ask us to remove LiveHealth Online Therapy from the list of available practices because they provide behavioral health coverage through another company.
Yes, children 10 to 17 years old can have an online therapy visit using LiveHealth Online Therapy. To schedule a visit, the child’s parent or guardian must first add them to their LiveHealth Online account. Before the child’s visit begins, the parent will also need to help the child sign in and start the visit. The level of involvement by the parent during the actual visit is determined by the therapist, just like an office visit. You can find a psychologist or therapist that can treat ages 10-17 by reviewing provider profiles.
